Nearly one hundred adults and children came to The Field Library Children’s Room on March 3 and 4th to take part in – or happily observe – the Cloud Robotics Hackathon. The focus of the event, sponsored by Google and RobotShop, was to create a robot which can perform useful tasks. The participating science mavens worked on using robotic sensors to develop new technologies.
It was a fabulous (and eye-opening) experience for both participants and observers, and especially for the kids who have been participating in a robotics club here at The Field Library.
How much fun was it? Well, the event created so much enthusiasm that people were clamoring for more robotics! So we’ll be having a demonstration in April from two International Soccer Robotics Champions. Another spinoff from the event is the creation of a robotics club for adults.
Nobody could be more enthusiastic than Sastry Duri (pictured below), who generously coached a team here at The Field Library.TO SEE MORE PICTURES FROM THE ROBOTICS HACKATHON, CLICK HERE.
