Last Thursday, we had our final Library Live program of the year: Around the World! We had over 120 children who traveled the globe (and no, they did not have to leave the building!). They had their very own passports – which got stamped in Peru, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Puerto Rico, Domican Replublic, France, Italy, Jamaica – and a host of other countries. We had a chance to taste traditional foods from 17 different countries. We learned how to make origami and paper lanterns. We were wowed by traditional costumes from all over the world. We saw pictures galore. And for 90 glorious minutes, we got a taste of the culture, history, cuisine, and day-to-day life from places far and wide.
Our Library Ambassador Robert was in charge of the Ecuador table – along with his mother and sister. The fried plaintains were amazing!Mother and son at their fabulous — and very tasty — Bulgaria display:
