Many thanks to artist Jessica Dubin for volunteering her time and expertise – not to mention all those mounds of clay! Ms. Dubin is a director and instructor at The Peekskill Clay Studios. Ms. Dubin read some springtime animal stories – to give the kids some ideas about animals they could create for their pots. And then it was time to PLAY WITH CLAY. About 14 kids rolled up their sleeves and went clay crazy! Jessica showed them how to use the tools of the trade to create texture for their pots, butterflies, snakes, turtles, birds and other springtime creatures. Finally, everyone painted their creations and then sent them off to be fired in a kiln. We can’t wait to see how they look all fired up!
