Over the winter, 19 young artists participated in a special four-part STEM workshop called Tiles of the Wild.  Under the guidance of our artist/instructor Jessica Dubin,  each participant created a hexagonal tile depicting a Hudson Valley animal.  What a thrill it was to finally uncover the beautiful mural created by our group.

It was hard to keep our mural under wraps, but we did our best: T1

And now it’s time to cut the ribbon and reveal the mural:

And here is our beautiful mural:Tiles Mosaic.jpg

We all felt happy to have been a part of this fabulous workshop! Tiles Group Shot at Ribbon Cutting in front of mural

Here are some more pictures of our mural -and of our appreciative audience (many of whom were workshop participants and families!):

Many thanks to:

* Artist Jessica Dubin for her vision, support, talent and endless inspiration

* Peekskill Clay Studios @ The Hat Factory for donating materials

* Our 19 dedicated participants and their families

* All our friends from Peekskill City Hall for encouraging our artistic endeavors

* Mark Fetzer & Joe Minnerly (City of Peekskill DPW) for helping with the installation

This program was made possible in part with funds from Westchester Library System’s Mini-Grant Initiative supported by Entergy and Con Edison.
