Library Live was hoppin’ this summer, with fabulous, free performances from magicians, singers and puppeteers.  We’ve posted lots of pictures already, but here are a few more highlights:

Magic Jim Vagias showed us how to Build a Better World with books and laughter!

Who can forget the amazing feats and sleight of hand from Joe the Magic Man?! Oh, and of course, we loved the bunny who magically appeared in the finale!

There was music and puppetry and dancing aplenty when Flor performed her bilingual Library Live show! Estupendo!

Beth and Scott Bierko amused us all with their hilarious, musical Library Live performance.  We sang.  We giggled.  And, of course, the audience was part of the act!

What a perfect farewell to Library Live 2017!

Thanks to our many wonderful performers, to our enthusiastic audience and to The Rotary Club of Peekskill who helped to sponsor Library Live.

And what a whirlwind tour it was! A huge and enthusiastic group of world travelers showed up for this annual end-of-the-summer program. Passports in hand, they set out to visit Bulgaria, Bosnia, Denmark, the Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Mexico, Jamaica, Trinidad, Scotland – and a host of other countries.  They feasted on meatballs, smashed plantains, gelato, pierogis – and traditional foods from over a dozen countries!  And, as always, we had many community participants who shared their cultural heritage with our very happy travelers.

What a fabulous way to find out about so many different cultures!  A HUGE thank you to everyone who shared their foods, games, costumes and cultures with all of us!  And gratitude to everyone who joined us  — to build a better world!
