This year, Mayor Rainey and the City of Peekskill have joined in The National Wildlife Federation’s Mayors’ Monarch Pledge to help save the Monarch butterflies and other pollinators. To help raise awareness and celebrate milkweed being planted by the riverfront, we have some fun things planned!

  • Monarch Butterfly Storytime: Wednesday, June 9th at 11:30AM
  • Take and Make Craft: Would you like to help save the Monarchs? Stop by the children’s room and pick up your very own take and make craft, where you can decorate a small pot and plant your own milkweed! Only available while supplies last.
  • Butterfly Display: Check out any of the butterfly books we have on display in the children’s room! All you need is your library card.

SPECIAL EVENT: The Westchester Pollinator Garden Tour is being held on Sunday, June 13th. You’ll be able to visit pollinator friendly gardens, community gardens, and wildflower meadows. For more information, visit: www.healthyyards.org/tour.
